Sharon’s Adventure in Business Travel

Meet Sharon: Reservations whiz, karting enthusiast, globe-trotter. Crafting connections, embracing adventure.

In the midst of travel cautiously reawakening after the pandemic, I joined the incredible team at Principal Business Travel in October 2021, stepping into a world of possibilities. As a Reservations Specialist, I’m not just crunching flight times and airline numbers; I’m crafting experiences and weaving connections.

From processing quotes to diving into bookings buried in emails, I’m the bridge between our client’s business needs and reality – getting them to where they need to be, to do what they need to do, with the least amount of fuss. And it doesn’t end there—admin tasks, invoicing, and keeping tabs on airline updates keep me on my toes. But the magic lies in communication; it’s the glue that keeps our operations sailing (or flying!) smoothly.

Beyond work, you’ll find me in the sun-soaked embrace of my garden, strolling outdoors, or laughing with loved ones. Weekends mean thrilling visits to karting tracks with my son, as we share the adrenaline of racing. And yes, I’m not just about business travel; I’m an avid traveller myself. Recently, I embarked on a remarkable journey to South Africa for a mesmerizing safari experience, igniting my own wanderlust even further.

Life isn’t just about balancing work and play; it’s about blending them into a harmonious rhythm. Juggling my 13-year-old’s activities with work? Challenge accepted!  Adaptability is my secret sauce. As the industry reshapes, I’m right there, embracing change and riding the tech wave. My story paints a picture of business travel fuelled by passion and innovation, regardless of where my desk is.

In a flash, I’ve become part of the new world of business travel.  It’s a nod to women who redefine the norms, who work from home with unwavering dedication to both their work and family life. The future is bright, and as the industry continues to adapt and transform, my journey stands as a reminder to break barriers and embrace the new world where the office desk fits seamlessly into the home décor – or even the garden, when the sun shines!
