In a recent survey that we conducted here at Principal Business Travel, it’s evident that the landscape of business travel is evolving, with a significant emphasis on the health and wellbeing of corporate globetrotters. An overwhelming 70% of regular business travellers emphasised the necessity of having “downtime” during their trips. This shift reflects a growing awareness of the impact of frequent travel on mental and physical health.
The survey sheds light on the positive aspect of business travel, with over 60% of respondents reporting a sense of achievement. However, what stands out is that more than half of them contemplate turning work trips into mini personal breaks, highlighting the desire for a healthier work-life balance. This underscores the need for companies to consider the holistic well-being of their employees when planning business travel.
