Travel SOS:

In this series of blogs, we examine real travel challenges that require real solutions

How We Solved It #1:

Travel doesn’t always go to plan—and that’s exactly when a business travel agency really proves its worth.

Take this recent example: A client called us recently from an European airport in a state of panic. Her inbound flight had been delayed, and her connecting flight had taken off without her. With no staff in sight at the airline desk and no information being offered, she was stranded in a foreign terminal, unsure of where her luggage was and what to do next.

We already knew she was a nervous flyer. So the first step was simple, but critical: reassurance. We stayed on the phone, calm and clear, letting her know she wasn’t alone and we were on it.

Next, we guided her through what to do next. With the ticket desk unmanned, we advised her to proceed through passport control and head to baggage claim. There, she should be able to find and speak to someone at the baggage information desk to locate her bags—our first priority.

Then we gave her space to breathe, promising to check in shortly.

Twenty minutes later, we called back. She had found a lovely café was sitting down to lunch, calm and composed, with her luggage beside her. Crisis averted.

But her journey wasn’t over yet. With no immediate flight options available, we switched gears and searched for train connections from the airport to her final destination. Within the hour, she was rebooked, boarding a train, and back on track—without having to lift a finger, or get up in the air again for that matter!

This wasn’t about just rebooking a trip. It was about knowing the client, reading the situation, staying calm under pressure, and acting fast.

That’s the Principal difference. When travel goes wrong, we’re ready to make it right.
