Wednesday night at Principal HQ was supposed to be a calm one. A few late arrivals, a bit of inbox clearing, maybe even a smug little glance at tomorrow’s tidy schedule.
Enter: the London airport fault.
Suddenly, flights were grounded, arrivals boards started flashing red, and chaos politely checked itself in at every major terminal. Among the many disrupted passengers? A group of our business travellers, due back into London that evening.
Their flight? Cancelled.
Their plans? Unravelled.
Their mood? Understandably… frazzled.
Among them? None other than… our founder.
Yes, in a twist of glorious irony, the person behind Principal Business Travel found herself grounded, stranded, and staring down a long, uncomfortable night at a European airport.
Luckily, she has the best team in the business.
Cue Lindsay.
With her usual calm efficiency (and possibly a half-drunk cup of tea), Lindsay sprang into action. Within minutes, she’d:
Secured the next available flight back into London for the following morning
Booked a hotel right near the airport – no late-night taxi stress here
Sent confirmation details straight to the travellers’ phones before they even found the airport Pret
No fuss. No panic. No sleeping on cold plastic chairs.
Just smooth, simple, smart travel support – even when the unexpected hits.
Not All Heroes Wear Capes…
…but some do carry booking logins and know their way around a last-minute hotel cancellation policy.
It’s all part of what we do: quietly making travel work when things go sideways.
And while we can’t stop the weather (or the airport power faults), we can make sure our clients are always looked after.
Lindsay saved the day (and the night). Our founder made it home. And somewhere in an airport hotel room, her very own phrase “That’s the Principal difference” took on a whole new meaning.
And yes, Lindsay got to finish her tea. Eventually. (pictured)
